Funny how time flies...

Over a month and I haven't posted. I'm sure I could ramble off excuses but I really just haven't had the desire. Well... maybe the desire, but not the motivation... or something like that.

Loki (my blogger nickname for the boyfriend) and I traveled a lot for his birthday. Sioux Falls to see the extended family the first weekend, stayed here in town the second weekend and celebrated with his friends. On to Missouri for the third weekend to see his immediate family and old friends, then off to Minnesota the weekend after that to celebrate with his college friends. After all that, I'm exhausted. In Missouri he and his family took me out to the museum, and we checked out a wheelchair. Thank all that we did. It was a huge place, and I wanted to see so many exhibits... I'd never have made it through one, let alone several without the chair. Loki pushed me for most of it, but I wheeled around a fair bit on my own til my wrists and arms were too tired. It took a little while for my embarrassment to wear off, this is the first time I've been in a chair outside of a hospital, and it wasn't the kind that was terribly user friendly. Its meant to be pushed, and because of that it makes it a bit frustrating for me. I really want my own, some lightweight thing meant to be wheeled that I'll be able to use better. I've accepted that I'll need some help, I know that now, but I still want to have as much freedom as I can.

That being said, I know I have good days and bad... afterall, I've had a shit run of luck lately. I hurt my back a few days back, and while Loki has been awesome about helping me, I felt better pretty quickly. Then yesterday I suffered a sudden and severe migraine accompanied by nausea. The migraine faded but the nausea didn't. I ate soup and crackers and grumbled a lot. Loki didn't complain, just helped me out with whatever I needed and took such good care of me. This morning I woke up feeling much better, tired, exhausted even, but better. Then after Loki left for work I started to feel an aching in my head, but it was mild and I ignored it. Roll forward a couple hours and I'm back in full blown headache and nausea mode. UGH! To top it all off I miraculously hurt my back, again, in a different place. SITTING DOWN. It just makes me want to pull my hair out... except that would be hard since I chopped all my long hair off in the spirit of summer. Alas, this is just how life goes.

Oh, speaking of. I lost my disability case. They never bothered to send me to their doctors like I was told they would, so I immediately filed my appeal and wrote them a polite but very angry letter about how poorly my case was conducted. My appeal paperwork went so fast I had a packet in two days. Huzzah? So here we go. Round two.
